Parties are always fun, no matter the time of year. They’re even better when it’s your 50th birthday, surrounded by 50 of your closest friends.  Such was the case this past weekend in Calabasas, California for a 50th Birthday Surprise Party with The Amazing Waiters (just north of Los Angeles for those of you who don’t know where this is…it’s where Justin Bieber used to live before he sold to Khloe Kardashian in 2014, but we digress).  Needless-to-say, Calabasas is lovely.

We were contacted by the birthday girl’s mother who wanted to do something different and special for her daughter and thought The Amazing Waiters would be a nice addition to the festivities.  She wanted to keep it a surprise for her.

Well, the birthday girl was one of those people.  And it’s good she knew before the “surprise”.  We immediately received a call from here and we walked through our proposed surprise show for her.  After some discussion, we adjusted the show to her expectations regarding time line and music preference and immediately began refining her show.

SURPRISES ALL AROUND

Our 2 awesome singing waiters managed to surprise the fifty ladies (yes, all women at this birthday party) and we previously decided that our waiter, Allie would be a planted guest and at the “right” time, would be pulled into the show.  Actually, our waiter, Ben pulled her into the show through a brilliant rouse while he was posing the head waiter.  It never ceases to amaze guests when the waiter starts singing…and singing well.

As it became more evident that these waiters had skills, the show’s apex was some unique A Capella singing that went immediately into a song from the show Glee!, closing with Pharrell’s “Happy” (who doesn’t want to toe-tap to THAT?).

Mom and Daughter loved the show and what it brought to the party.  Guests had a great time and we did too!

The Amazing Waiters brought in the Holiday Season with some personally served surprise entertainment for a lovely group of ladies at their Country Club Holiday Luncheon in Rolling Hills, California this past weekend.

Posing as Waiters, the guys infiltrated the on-site staff and proceeded to transform from waiters to entertainers singing a mix of Christmas Classics, Rat Pack and Broadway Favorites intertwined with a specially-written script.  The ladies were completely surprised!

“It was great to get back to one of our favorite clients on the Peninsula here in LA”, stated Singing Waiter, James. “I really don’t think they were seeing a show until our third waiter made his grand entrance.  By then, we were singing our 4th or 5th song…It was a fun time!”.

The club wanted the Amazing Waiter special sound option which made it very easy for them.  We had the peace of mind of having our own sound system and they were relieved they didn’t have to coordinate a third party for our needs.

Good things come in threes. This is especially true in the entertainment world, where several different trios have grabbed our attention and stole the show. From literary characters, to movie stars, to musicians, three seems to be the magic number for success.

The comedy genre has most often seen its share of triplets, from the modern Blue Collar Comedy Group, featuring Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, and Bill Engvall, to Chevy Chase, Martin Short and Steve Martin in the film Three Amigos. Not to be excluded is the classic 1934 vaudeville act, The Three Stooges, who cultivated a legacy that has influenced comedy long past their prime.

In 1981, Charlie’s Angels offered a triple threat inboth mediums, with the original TV show chronicling the adventures of three females (Jaclyn Smith, Farah Fawcett, and Kate Jackson) working in a Los Angeles based detective agency. In 2000, the series was reignited when it was turned into a feature film, and again in 2003 with the production of Charlie’s Angels: Full throttle. This franchise has spawned several different entertainment categories, from comic books to video games.

Sometimes, the literary world can help heighten the importance of a trio in the entertainment industry. Most recently, the world has seen a cult following emerge from The Harry potter series, which follows Harry, Ron and Hermione. They are often referred to as The Golden Trio. This trio is responsible for the creation of several movies, video games, and even a theme park.

From these examples, it can be easily concluded that the entertainment industry has seen success in with several different 3s. The triple dose of talent seen by these groups has amplified the stories they tell and the way most have come to view the overall concept of trios in general.

The Amazing Waiters:  A Memorable Hit

Having an ensemble that has diversity can bring out the most creative ideas without limitations.  Recently, we had a client request for something completely out-of-the-box, spontaneous, and very, very cool…and we’d like to share it with you.

We enjoy entertaining audiences of all sizes.  This particular event was for 600 people at the Opera House in Los Angeles.  It as so great to have the opportunity to return home in a way that would really surprise people.
